Founder, Wayne McCleskey, led our gathering for its first 19 years. He was a superb player and teacher with a quick wit who offered gentle guidance. His work as a family therapist resulted in a deep understanding of human nature and how music, passion and the sound of the Native flute affect the human spirit. Wayne’s vision and desire to create a space where people can come together, express themselves and grow personally have shaped the Pacific Northwest Flute Gathering into the easy-going, enriching and rewarding experience that has kept people coming back for years. Wayne’s last year to be present at our retreat was 2015. He left this physical life on September 25, 2017.
The gathering continues on, shaped forever by Wayne’s influence. Peaceful travels, friend.
